UK car sales fall 1% in October

UK new-car registrations slipped 1.1 percent in October compared with the same month last year, and overall demand for diesel vehicles edged down in the aftermath of Volkswagen Group's emissions scandal, industry data showed. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said in a statement today that car sales fell to 177,664.
Luxury car sales up 30%-plus

The number of sales in Miami-Dade County's luxury car market increased more than 30% from mid-July to mid-September compared to the same period last year. About 31% more near-luxury car sales were reported this past report period compared to a year before, with the BMW 3 Series topping the list yet again, according to a market report by Dominion Dealer Solutions, a Virginia-based firm that tracks auto dealership sales nationwide.

South Carolina car dealership loses Supreme Court case over a closing feesa

The S.C. Supreme Court has upheld a nearly $3.6 million ruling to a woman who sued an Upstate automobile dealership over a “closing fee” she and thousands of other buyers were charged when purchasing cars. A Pickens County jury leveled the judgment last year against Hendrick Honda of Easley after finding that the dealership added an arbitrary administrative charge ranging from $249 to $299 per customer.
