This position is based in Network Operations Centre NOC, responsible for the provision of ESA Ground Facilities Operations Services, which includes the monitoring and control of ESAs Tracking Station Network ESTRACK as well as the underlying Mission Operations Infrastructure Information Technology MOIIT and Operations Control Centres OCC. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Hardware installations Hardware maintenance and support Mechanical integration Electrical safety testing Cable installation, testing and patching Spare part management Shipping and handling of equipment deliveries Configuration management Testing Preventive maintenance Control room refurbishment Reporting Incident handling Support of LEOP launch and early orbit activities including occasional shift work Support of refurbishment projectsengineering activities. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have at least a Bachelor degree in a related field. This can be replaced by a relevant professional experience in the field. A solid background in IToperational support. Excellent knowledge of common data centre infrastructures, including wiring concepts, cooling and power distribution Excellent knowledge of common IT hardware server, racks, network devices and wiring technologies Excellent experience in trouble shooting and fault analysis Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several tasks in parallel Able to work on shifts occasionally Solid IT knowledge, including common hardware, networking concepts and common tools and software applications Service mentality and solid understanding of a KPI driven service environment PC literacy MS Office Products, Lotus Notes.
