Project Engineer Mechatronics

The Project Engineer Mechatronics is expected to take the lead in mechatronic specifically electrical, mechanical, control and software system aspects of the design, manufacturing and maintenance of the ground segment, i.e. the winch, the electrical backend and the automatic launch and land system. The project engineer mechatronics will perform the following duties Perform conceptual design upgrades for the ground segment, including derivation of proper set of requirements and safety related aspects Create design documents for parts, assemblies, or procurement specifications for selected finished products. Build and test prototypes in advance of a Critical Design Review, support field campaigns in the flight testing and operation centre in Kraggenburg Secure traceability of design, workflows and decisions Design, develop, or implement control circuits, algorithms or systems for the ground segment mechatronics systems. Create and document embedded software programs for control Analyze existing procedures design and suggest improvements. Oversee manufacturing and verification of the ground segment systems. Interact with partnerssubcontractors on technical aspects, quality and priorities in accordance with project requirements Job Requirements B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Physics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3 years experience Theoretical and practical experience with position measurement systems, handling systems, control engineering, actuator design, dynamics Experience with power electronics Skilled in CAD design Skilled in MatlabSimulink Affinity with a systematic working approach Representative, supplier interaction negotiating skills, fluent in English.
