Adhesive and Sealant Council's (ASC) 2015 Member Value Survey shows progress in delivering value across ASC's programs and services. Benchmarking against 2010 and 2013 results, 2015 survey illustrates growth; 5 of 6 values grew by double digits, and 5 of 6 eclipsed 60% threshold for members reporting significant value. According to ASC President Matthew E. Croson, 90% of respondents responded favorably to ASC's ability to connect members via networking and relationship building.

ASC adjusts annual meeting lineup.

During meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, ASC's Board of Directors voted unanimously to adjust its annual meeting lineup by hosting a single Convention and EXPO in the spring, and adding an annual Executive Leadership Conference in the fall. ASC created a board level task force to consider changes, ensuring that member needs were taken into account, while also considering the economic impact to the Council itself. These changes will be implemented in 2017.

Suncor's attempt to dismantle Canadian Oil Sands takeover defence heads to ASC

The battle between Suncor Energy Inc. and Canadian Oil Sands heads to the Alberta Securities Commission on Nov. 26. Suncor has asked the provincial regulator to dismantle one of the anti-takeover measures adopted by COS directors, so Canadian Oil Sands shareholders can decide for themselves whether to accept a deal announced on Oct. 5. Canadian Oil Sands says its board is actually attempting to defend its shareholders from a bidder with an unfair advantage because of it has access to private information about the Syncrude oil sands operations north of Fort McMurray, Alta. COS has a 37 per cent stake in Syncrude and Suncor has 12 per cent, so together they own just under half of the complex.

Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC), in partnership with Ducker Worldwide, published "Grow the Vertical-Voice of the Customer Research” as part of ASC's Growth Objective. The Growth initiative provides ASC members information, trends, and market info that drives growth opportunities in key sub-segments within Transportation. Collected data helps members better understand market drivers, key applications from end-user perceptions, challenges, and estimated utilization for fastening/sealing.
