Ethernet Cable unites EtherCAT communication, power functions.

2015-12-15 14:31:07| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

In one standard 4-wire Ethernet cable, EtherCAT P integrates 24 Vdc supply of EtherCAT P slaves with signals and data from connected sensors/actuators. US (system and sensor supply) and UP (peripheral voltage for actuators) are electrically isolated from each other, each with up to 3 A current for connected components. US and UP currents are directly injected into wires of 100 Mbps cable, and EtherCAT P covers applications from 24 V I/O level through drives with 400 or 600 Vdc.

Active Optical Cable (AOC) Evaluation Method

2015-12-14 13:54:47| rfglobalnet Downloads

The Active Optical Cable (AOC), especially parallel multi-lane cables using QSFP+ modules, is one of the most important devices used by high-speed interconnects, such as InfiniBand. Accurate cable testing is necessary for ensuring that these AOCs have reliable data transmissions and interoperability. This application note explains how to evaluate the QSFP+ type AOC for 56G-IB-FDR, which consists of four 14-Gbps parallel lanes.
