Southwire Company has signed an agreement with ABB, Inc., to purchase a high-voltage and extra high-voltage underground transmission cable manufacturing plant in Huntersville, North Carolina. Through the acquisition, which is expected to close in the third quarter, Southwire adds extra high-voltage cable products to its portfolio and expands its capacity to produce high-voltage cable, a market in which it already is a leading manufacturer.
