Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Business Unit Controller ENGSERVBMC201408 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Support to the processes related to the main resources of the organizational entity i.e. budgets, manpower, staffing, including planning, execution and followup of the activities and resources budgets, manpower, missions, recharges Support to the planning, preparation, execution and followup of activities and related procurement actions and associated progress in terms of output schedule resources Assessment and monitoring of the status of the procurement actions including activity progress, maintenance of payment plans, correctness of financial charging, invoicing and payment Implementing all administrative actions related to procurement and contractual matters, including data entry in ESA Corporate SAP and local applications Maintaining up to date the related data, performing data analysis, identifying deviations w.r.t. planstargets and production of associated reports to the responsible management and to the concerned customers Assisting in the definition, preparation, implementation and maintenance of management support tools to ensure efficient execution of the related tasks Liaison with Contract, Budget and Payment Officers to ensure the coherence of the internal and external administrative data Contribution to the definition of new and improvement of existing related processes and tools and production of related documents Support to the risk management processes Support to the inventory and asset management processes including coordination of the proper registration of inventory items and assets, valuation of assets Support to the maintenance of industrial return databases, periodic verification of the BU data against ESA system for consistency, and monitoring and forecasting of industrial return values. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a Master degree in Engineering, an MBA or a University degree in a relevant discipline and 4 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with budgeting, accounting, procurements at ESA is an asset. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Experience in the field of controlling of resources and activities andor financeaccounting, at administrator level andor assistant level. Adequate level of experience in the field of business administration, controlling of resources and activities, andor accounting at administrator level andor assistant level. Ability to handle high volume of numerical data in an accurate manner, analyse them, and produce synthetic reports. Ability to cope with high preasure. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. High level of flexibility. Good organization skills, good communication skills. For this position we seek a candidate who can start in April, or as soon as possible thereafter.
