(Telecompaper) China plans to increase the number of broadband users by 30 percent, or 60 million, this year. The initiative is part of the Broadband China project and also aims to add over 100 million 3G users this year, the Shanghai Daily reports. The number of FttH (fibre-to-the-home) users is expected to grow by 35 million, and the home broadand base will be boosted by 25 million to a total of 200 million before the end of the year. The Broadband China project announced by the government aims to increase average bandwidth capacity in urban regions to 20 Mbps by 2015.
