Our client has launched onsite a private cloud computing environment in 2014 called esacloud. Since then its service has been extended to include services such as Backup as a service, Platform as a service and Container as a service. In order to support the client activities which cover a wide spectrum of operational needs, esacloud adoption support is needed which was initially covered by a Managed Organisation service contract. However with the additional services, the wide customer base, from users that require single virtual machines to those setting up complex clustered applications a more comprehensive adoption support is needed. Services currently provided by the Managed organisation service have been provided through a simple web interface called goesacloud using the APIs of vmwares vCloud Director. This interface provides basic Virtual Machine provisioning and the deployment of apps within containers, enabling users the opportunity to deploy virtual machines directly on esacloud. With basic deployments covered through the goesacloud portal, to expand the adoption of esacloud a more comprehensive and flexible on boarding support is now needed. Tasks and Activities The scope of work is divided into 3 parts On boarding and Support to end users Provide technical support and advise to the adoption teams and new users on the cloud service portfolio Provide support to customers to DeployCreate vApps VMs either using goesacloud or vCloud Director Provide support to customers or their providers to install applications within dedicated VMs or containers Configure and modify VApp network settings based on customer needs Restart VMs vApps after incidents which resulted in a cloud platform unavailability Modify VM resources not configurable through the goesacloud interface Administrative support to the goesacloud interface Monitor and manage the goesacloud infrastructure Support and update Operating System and app Templates Take over the role of organisation administrator for the vCloud Director organisations supporting goesacloud 06 and 09 Perform organisation capacity management and performance management using tool vCenter Expansion of the goesacloud service Agile expansion of the goesacloud platform to cover additional services as they become available, such as BaaS NetBackup, Object Storage Isilon Storage and Disaster Recovery Zerto Develop PoCs based on open source tools for new or improved services Expand the service portfolio to include managed operating system service Skills and Experience Understanding of cloud infrastructures and technologies Experience on Automation and DevOps tools, e.g Ansible Software development, python, golang, and shell scripting Demonstrated use Web development technologies, both backend and front end. Administrative experience of Operating Systems, Windows, Red Hat, SLES. Management of orchestrators and container technologies e.g Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes and openshift. At least 5 years experience with service delivery in the areas of Servers hardware, operating systems Virtualisation services Security Independent with the ability to use own initiative Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines Strong focus on customer service How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
