Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems and applications. This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. PROFILE The engineer shall have at least 5 years of proven knowledge and handson experience in the following mandatory skills area Network fault detection, analysis, troubleshooting, fixing, Cisco technology based network solutions. It will be considered beneficial if the Communication Engineer holds a current Cisco certification or is able to substantiate equivalent experience. Network equipment Operating System OS Network equipment installation, configuration and testing. Operations and service management with external suppliers and providers of network products and services within a production environment, including interacting with external providers on upgrades, evolutions etc. Proven experience in technical authoring and maintenance of network diagrams Visio will be considered an advantage. TASKS EXPERIENCE The tasks and responsibilities of the Communication Engineer include To support the operations and maintenance of the network infrastructure and services of the Copernicus Sentinel3 Ground Segment To carry out the handling and the troubleshooting of the network systems and services anomaly To support the operations, administration and maintenance of thirdparty provided network services To monitor and report the performance of the network infrastructure and systems, including thirdparty provided network services, and the quality of the services delivered to the users.
