ACS is looking for the key person to provide Support to MHS and NOAA Instruments Engineering Activities. The foreseenstart date is ASAP. ACS has more than 30 years experience in delivering solutions for Earth Observation satellites Ground Segments. Based in Rome, Italy and in Darmstadt, Germany, we delivered systems currently in operation in 20 countries worldwide and have a long record of successful projects carried out for ESA, EUMETSAT, EMSA and many other Space Agencies and Research Centres. ACS recently established German subsidiary ACSD aims at better serving our customers based in Darmstadt area. The tasks of the MHS and NOAA Instruments Engineer shall include the following Participation to Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities relevant to the MHS and NOAA instruments, including operation of the MHS EGSE, data analysis, preparation of procedures and test reports instrument ground testing at sc level, endtoend testing at system level, satellite inorbit verification. Maintenance of an uptodate plan of Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities requiring support for the MHS and the NOAA instruments. Follow up all activities related to MHS carried out by the Airbus DSUK and maintain a list of PDS activities and their status and expenditures. Follow up of all activities related to the NOAA instruments including AVHRR and SEM instruments onground calibration. Support inorbit checkout verification tests during MetopC In Orbit Verification IOV. Investigation of onground and inorbit instrument anomalies and support operations to the relevant recovery actions. Provide general support to the Metop Operations Team for MHS and NOAA instruments matters. Analyse and assess both onground and inorbit performances of MHS and NOAA instruments. Participation to instrument reviews and other meetings with industry and other partners such as ESA, NOAANASA. Maintenance of regular contacts with the above mentioned EUMETSAT partners and industry in relation to MHS and NOAA instruments. Maintenance of a status list of MHS action items, nonconformancesanomalies, requests for waivers and deviations. Preparation and maintenance of instrument related documents, as well as presentation material e.g. Instrument Operational Manuals Support to other Instruments Although support to MHS and NOAA instruments is the primary task of the Key person, heshe may be requested to provide a similar type of management and engineering support to the LEO Instrument Team Leader for other instruments. Required skills The Key person is required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision and minimum training. The Key person shall have a university degree in engineering or physics and, as a pre requisite, a background of at least 5 years in space hardware projects possibly with Earth observation instruments. Experience in project management positions is desirable together with the ability to follow satellite level Payload AIV activities. The Key person shall also have some knowledge of PAQA processes and procedures and good general computing skills, with familiarity with Microsoft Office software Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.. Previous experience in AIVAIT and commissioning activities is regarded as advantageous along with experience of working on a collaborative programme between different partners. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have some knowledge of the other.
