For our operations in Germany, we are currently looking for a Contract Manager. Main responsibilities The appointed candidate will report to Serco Management and will support the Serco business on the following areas Contract Management Business Development In hisher function as a Business Developer, the successful candidate will support in cooperation with the Recruitment Team the business development of Sercos Space operations across Europe. This will take approximately 50 of the working time and will involve, among other things Proposal development and drafting in response to customer ITTs, RFQs etc. Support to the technical screening of candidates CVs Leading technical interviews Down and final selection of candidates Analysing new business opportunities and, also in coordination to other Serco Personnel working on site, prioritizing such opportunities to maximize the possible return in terms of contract wins As a Contract Manager, the appointed candidate will undertake the following Technical and contractual liaison for the contract as the Companys representative, ensuring quality of service as well as financial control. Coordination on all aspects of service provision Adhoc liaison in contingencies and emergencies Escalation of open issues where required Attend meetings in representation of the Company and produce and maintain minutes and Action Item Lists when required Timely production and delivery of monthly progress reports, including gathering input from both Serco and subcontractor staff Business planning Staff management, including trainingtravel authorization, performance monitoring, periodic assessment and appraisals Producing staff training plans Quality assurance, environment, health and safety. Ideal candidate In order of preference, University degree in Engineering BSc as a minimum, MSc would be preferred, or Science and Technology, or proven ability to perform the tasks commensurate with such a formal academic qualification. The following requirements are considered essential Management experience preferably in the Space industry Deep technical knowledge in terms of both academic background and working experience of the European Space business Experience in leading technical interviews with candidates Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation, presentation and also conflict management The candidates are expected to perform calmly and correctly under stress conditions and have the capacity of working in parallel on a high number of tasks in an orderly and disciplined manner, giving them priorities if necessary good autonomy level and the capability of working with no supervision Extremely good command at power user level of the MS Office suite Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Excellent command of English, with proven drafting ability.
