Controller, Customer Service Delivery mf 8 months fixedterm contract with perspective for permanent position Ref SES0531 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Other Engineering Technical Position Staff Published 20150212 Context The team of Network Operations Controllers work in the Digital Network operations centre DINO at Betzdorf. They are responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the Network by monitoring and controlling all TV, Radio and Data services transmitted on the SES Satellite Network and ensuring correct operation and quality of the uplinks from Betzdorf and around the world. They work a shift pattern covering 247 operations. Responsibilities Maintain services to the highest possible standards, considering primarily service availability and quality of transmission, though the use of automatic and manual monitoring and analysis systems Performing and coordinating traffic recovery and troubleshooting with external uplinkers, customers and their representatives and SES Technology engineering and station support staff Operating and configuring the encoding and multiplexing systems for services originating in Betzdorf Produce accurate reports for customers on all incidents affecting transmission Report on all activity to General Manager, Customer Service Operations Perform regular In Orbit Tests of satellite transponders Perform occasional use accesses and line up tests of uplinks as required Provide technical support to customer Perform other duties as required by management. Experience Qualifications Good technical knowledge of satellite communications and digital television and modulation techniques High operational awareness High level of selfmotivation, ability to work independently Ability to work effectively under stress Strong customer focus Dedication and attention to detail Good written and oral communications skills Great team spirit.
