Overview The scope of the Service covers the 6 new Copernicus missions, collectively known as High Priority Candidate Missions HPCMs CO2M CHIME LSTM CRISTAL CIMR ROSEL Support is required to coordinate and follow the development of the endtoend E2E Performance Chains for the above missions, ensuring a common approach and usage of common methods and tools. Overall coordination of HPCMs E2E Performance Chains development. Coordinate and define the work plan and schedule for the development of the E2E Performance Chains for all payloads of the scoped missions. Elaborate the resources plan in support of the above work plan, in cooperation with the HPCMs Space Segment Management and the System Support Division Management. Ensure coherent execution of the work plan across all scoped missions. Ensure usage of common methods and tools where appropriate, in cooperation with the System Support Division Management. Coordinate with EOPS on the SW, interface and infrastructure aspects of scientific Scene Generator and Level 2 Processor Prototype procurement to ensure overall compatibility and coherence of the chain. CRISTAL E2E Performance Chain development Contribute to the overall specification of the E2E Mission Performance Chain and its components from Scene Generation up to Level2. Support setting up, and monitor, the implementation of the chain components developed through an ESA contracts with industry. Support setting up, and monitor, the implementation of the chain components developed inhouse, if any. Ensure coherence with the Space Segment, in particular between flight hardware and simulator. Ensure proper integration of all the implemented components in an overall E2E Mission Performance chain, its installation, maintenance and operations in ESTEC. Ensure that the E2E Performance Chain and its components and algorithms meet the required functionality and performance, taking into account system, instrument, geophysical model and calibration validation facility aspects. Analyse impacts on the mission performance resulting from deviations during the development programme. Ensure the proper verification and validation methods are proposed and implemented. Support Test Data production and verification. Support the analysis of the data collected during onground and inorbit calibration and characterisation campaigns. Other E2E Performance Chains development Contribute to any preparatory work for the other HPCMs Performace Chains the eventual tasks for those will be identical to the CRISTAL in above tasks. EOP transversal activities Support the standardisation and the harmonisation between the E2E Mission Performance Simulator chains and related Products between all scoped missions as well as with the current EOPP technical baseline for these systems. Contribute to the activities within the System Support Division of maintenance and evolution of the E2E Mission Performance Chain Reference architecture, requirement template and best practices. Specific qualification requirements University degree preferably Masters or equivalent qualification in Physics or Engineering. At least 4 years of demonstrated background and experience in Earth Observation payload performance chains, and familiarity with hardware payloads. At least 4 years of demonstrated background and experience in managing software and performance engineers, and in managing industrial contracts. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple interfaces and negotiate priorities. Good at working in a team and a proactive attitude to solving problems. Fluent English language oral and written. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed offsite at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class E3. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
