One of our Space clients is looking for a Data Handling Engineer to work on one of their sites in Germany. This role is expected to start around March or April and will be a long term position. Your Tasks Establish of functional and design requirements based on system needs. Supervise onboard functionalities with respect to command, control, and housekeeping, formatting, encoding, compression, processing, and data transfer Tradeoff data handling architectures and design implementations, taking into account possible reuse of available hardware and software Ensure and monitor compliance between data protocol and interface specifications on subcontractor and customer level Establish engineering budgets for TMTC and ICDs demonstrating that the DHS provides the required level of observability, commandability, and data management Define and ensure the verification approach for the DHS equipment, and for the overall DHS at subsystem including required hardware software compatibility tests in an operationally representative environment, and to generate the respective documentation Tailoring and application of PUS Service Libraries. Your Qualifications Electronics Engineer equivalent to Master of Communications Engineering Design engineering experience more than 6 years in a majority of the fields described within your tasks Good knowledge on design methodologies for space applications design documentation, design analysis, etc. and tools e.g. PSpice, MathCad, Matlab, etc. Ability to work simultaneously in different projects Ability to communicate with engineers, project managers and customer representatives Availability to travel Applicants must be fluent in English
