LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of Data Processing System engineer Mission Performance, Monitoring and Supporting Applications for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The primary responsibilities of this role will be Responsible for L0 to L2, DFEP, online QC, Aux. Data Coordination, Mission Performance Monitoring and relevant Statistics and Reporting. Support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS maintenance, in particular anomaly correction and software release process. Also responsible for necessary evolution, including the necessary coordination of the data processing systems engineering for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. Requirements Theconsultantsshouldhavethefollowingbackground Adequateexperienceinmaintainingandengineering ofevolutionsoflargescalesoftwaresystemsmissioninstrumentdataprocessing related. Experienceinsoftwaredevelopmentlifecycles Softwaredebuggingandprofilingtoolse.g.GDB,DBX,IBMPurify,Valgrind Sourcecodecontrolsystems,preferablySubversionandCVS CompetenceinSWtesting,unittestsuitemaintenance,automatedtesting,verification andvalidation. Andthefollowingspecifictechnicalskillsandexperience ExperiencewiththeprogrammingandusageofIDLENVI Experience intheuse ofPython languages anditsmainscientificlibrariesnumpy, matplotlib KnowledgeofWebtechnologiesespeciallyusingPythonWebframeworke.g.Django Use of and application programming of relational database systems in particular ORACLE,INFORMIX,PostgreSQLandMySQL CCJavaprogramminglanguageexperienceinaUNIXLinux basedenvironment KnowledgeofScriptinglanguagesPython,Perl,TclTk,shell Knowledgeofwebtechnologies,programming andmarkuplanguagese.g.Apache,CGI, JavaScript,XMLandrelatedtechnologiesXPATH,SVG,etc. Academic and work related requirements A University degree in an engineering discipline is required. Perfect command of English, verbal and written. Knowledge of French would be an asset. Location of work EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. Benefits A permanent employment contract.
