HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will be responsible for the Ground Segment data processing elements and have the following tasks Support the definition of data processing concepts and their implications Analyse requirements and constraints, including their impact and criticality Specify and maintain the Ground Segment and lower level requirements Maintain the functional and architectural model Contribute to the Ground Segment preliminary design definition and integration, verification and validation IVV approach Specify the interface requirements documents IRDs Support the risk, cost and budget management and procurement activities Support the testing, integration and acceptance of data processing elements. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in an engineering domain or equivalent Several years experience in engineering of Ground Segment data processing elements for Earth Observation missions Experience in requirements specification and management in DOORS, definition of interfaces, architecture and testing concepts Previous direct involvement in specification, design, development andor procurement of at least two of the following Ground Segment elements Processing infrastructure for Level 1 and Level 2 data processing, Level 1 instrument data processors andor Frontend and L0 processing Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards as well as knowledge of Calibration Validation activities for Earth Observation products would be an asset Experience with and ability to write technical documentation Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
