We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Data Services Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will support the operation of the Earth Observation Portal and the analysis, design, development testing and maintenance of software functions maintaineddeveloped within the Data Services Engineering Team. You will have the following responsibilities Operational Support for data services systems including oncall support Design, implementation and testing of software corrections and evolutions Unit and integration testing, acceptance and integration of external software and verification validation support Requirements management including review and analysis of user requirements Generation and maintenance of technical documentation e.g. system and software requirements, interface control documents, maintenance procedures Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Experience in the provision of first line support for operational systems including monitoring of the performance, problem investigation and oncall support. Experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the Java programming language for web portals Extensive experience in developing software applications Strong technical expertise for translating user requirements into software requirements, architecture evolution and implementation Experience in software development, maintenance, validation and verification Experience in using software configuration management, anomaly reporting and tracking tools Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
