Development Engineer Optical Design Analyses mf Start date and duration Start date a.s.a.p. one year contract with option to extend for an additional period. Client and Location For one of our clients we are currently recruiting for a Development Engineer Optical Design Analyses mf for their location in Munich, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry, specialized in the development of diverse space applications. Tasks and Responsibilities In this position you will support the department Optical Systems and you will have the possibility to work on international projects to develop advanced solutions for space. Responsible for the design and development of optical systems and products for present and future European and German space missions Conduction of the optical design, analysis and tolerancing from early concept to the final product Definition and conduction of trade studies to suggest principal optical design choices and drive design decisions Derivation of technical requirements for optical systems, subsystems and components Definition of optical verification methods, integration and alignment strategies, and establishment of error and performance budgets Information exchange with customers and subcontractors at the technical level Close cooperation with other technical disciplines mechanical design, thermal structural engineering, systems engineering, Assembly Integration Test. Experience and education University degree or equivalent qualification in optics, physics, engineering or related technical discipline with at least 5 years of professional experience Sound knowledge in the field of optics with advanced expertise in conceptual optical design, simulation, tolerancing and analysis including straylight analysis, especially in the field of imaging systems, telescopes, spectrometers and interferometers both refractive and reflective Experience with optical design software e.g. ZEMAX, Code V, ASAP Advanced experience in the interface to relevant engineering discipline Excellent interpersonal, oral written communication skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multilanguage team Ability to quickly establish rapport, build trust, and develop excellent working relationships with other team members, customers and vendors System and processoriented thinking Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
