Client and Location For one of our clients we are currently recruiting for a Development Engineer Optical Design Analyses mf for their location in Munich, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry, specialized in the development of diverse space applications. Tasks and Responsibilities In this position you will support the department Optical Systems and you will have the possibility to work on international projects to develop advanced solutions for space. Responsible for the design and development of optical systems and products for present and future European and German space missions Conduction of the optical design, analysis and tolerancing from early concept to the final product Definition and conduction of trade studies to suggest principal optical design choices and drive design decisions Derivation of technical requirements for optical systems, subsystems and components Definition of optical verification methods, integration and alignment strategies, and establishment of error and performance budgets Information exchange with customers and subcontractors at the technical level Close cooperation with other technical disciplines mechanical design, thermal structural engineering, systems engineering, Assembly Integration Test. Experience and education University degree or equivalent qualification in optics, physics, engineering or related technical discipline with at least 5 years of professional experience Sound knowledge in the field of optics with advanced expertise in conceptual optical design, simulation, tolerancing and analysis including straylight analysis, especially in the field of imaging systems, telescopes, spectrometers and interferometers both refractive and reflective Experience with optical design software e.g. ZEMAX, Code V, ASAP Advanced experience in the interface to relevant engineering discipline Excellent interpersonal, oral written communication skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multilanguage team Ability to quickly establish rapport, build trust, and develop excellent working relationships with other team members, customers and vendors System and processoriented thinking Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Position Reference 019 You will have the opportunity to be part of the Galileo System and service support, by assessing the performance of PRS service and coordinating the PRS validation activities. You will also take a major part in the definition of the PRS validation plan and relevant test plans, to define the test cases and test procedures to be executed and to prepare the test reports. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the definition and the evolution of the PRS Service KPIs and the Service level targets for specific deployment stages corresponding to the service milestones Support the definition of the evolution of the PRS Service Definition document Evaluate the PRS service performance considering the impacts of operations and derive the necessary modifications to the OSRDOSRDx e.g. impact of operations on the continuity of service Support GSA to analyze and assess the reports provided by GSOp, in particular for what concerns PRS performance monitoring if available Support Exploitation Reviews by analyzing the PRS Performance evolution between consecutive periods provided by ESAWO and complementing the conclusions with the input coming from the System Operator and from GRC Ensure verification of the PRS service requirements progressively through the different service milestones complementing verification evidence provided by core infrastructure, operations and service facilities with verification evidence coming from service validation activity Produce the inputs related to the service facilities and operations to the aggregated VCD to MRD limited to PRS service Produce and maintain the PRS validation plan Ensure the consistency including schedule between PRS service validation plan and the PRS service implementation plans Ensure the consistency including schedule between PRS service validation plan and the System deployment and verification plans Ensure the consistency including schedule between PRS service validation plan and the Service Facilities deployment and verification plans Define the PRS service validation strategy Define the PRS service validation boundaries Define and plan the PRS validation test campaigns Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent qualification in either physics, mathematics, electric or electronic engineering, aerospace engineering or telecommunications engineering, geodesy Knowledge of Mission Requirement Documents MRD Experience with PRS Requirement document Experience with PRS Service Definition document Experience with PRS Service Implementation plans Knowledge of the Galileo System architecture, performance, signal and in general of GNSS GPS, Glonass, EGNOS Former professional involvement in major Space Projects andor GNSS related services Knowledge of the design and requirements definition process for space systems Management of external and internal System interfaces Valid Security clearance by their national security administration where relevant How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
