Description of the job A vacancy has arisen for an experienced engineer within the Test engineering division of the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage. The Communication Products group is responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites. The processor functionality ranges from high capacity channelisers, supporting intersatellite optical data links, to implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft. Tasks accountabilities Lead and oversee the design, development and validation of test system hardware and software to meet the challenging demands of testing digital equipments destined for space applications Work with heritage test systems and commercialofftheshelf COTS technology to create an automated test system that meets the demands of verifying product requirements Deliver a complex test solution including hardware, software, test reports, procedures, test scripts and results analysis. Work within a dedicated testsystem team and interact closely with product engineers and project managers to deliver testing to the cost, schedule and quality expectations. Support all test activities including environmental testing until final delivery of flight units to the customer. Assist in investigations into any test anomalies to rapidly determine the root cause and ensure that customer confidence in the product is maintained. Prepare and carry out design reviews softwaresystem This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Software designarchitecture experience language skills to include CC and scripting languages such as TclPython, ideally with some application within a test and measurement environment Strong understanding in RF test and measurement equipment, being familiar with their operation, control and automation e.g. spectrum analysers, AWGs, VNAs Experience of hardwaresoftware integration testing Strong background of working within a productfocused project team Delivering technical reports test plans, design documents, test procedures Knowledge of digital electronics and digital signal processing Apply HERE
