HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a EDRS Mission Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. EDRS Mission Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space transportation and satellites. You will be a member of the Operations team in charge of performing the following activities during the operational hours of the Primary Mission Operations Centre PMOC Supervision of system performance and of automatic service provision Maintenance of actual mission planning data and mission schedule Supervision of planning processes and reporting to engineering in case of conflicts and of key management processes Supervision of the health status of all EDRS components Monitoring of the service infrastructure and the distributed IP Network Level1 response to anomalies, based on procedures Monitoring the use of the satellite payload Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first response during the operational hours of the PMOC Trouble ticket and incident management Routine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul for EDRS equipment Daily shift handover tofrom the BackUp Mission Operations Centre Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Several years of experience in satellite and ground segment operations Knowledge of satellite communications, earth observation missions, as well as mission operation ground infrastructure Knowledge of problem solving in IT landscapes Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, Outlook, Project and operating systems such as WIN7UNIX or Server 2012 Willingness to do shift work and the ability to operate in an international team Fluency in English and German is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Munich. We are looking for candidates who are available from May 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
