We anticipate holding interviews the week commencing 11th June EUMETSAT is the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment. We observe the atmosphere and ocean and land surfaces from Space using a system of satellites, 365 days a year, offering images and data to provide insights into weather situations, environmental hazards and climate change. Our work helps users worldwide to monitor changes in these to protect lives, lifestyles and properties. EUMETSAT Polar System of Second Generation EPSSG represents Europes contribution to the future Joint Polar System with the United States. This programme is expected to be one of the most important sources of satellite observations for all forecasts based on Numerical Weather Prediction NWP in the 20212040 timeframe. In our EPSSG System Team, we require an engineer to support the Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP activities of MetopSG A and B satellites and help to prepare for their operations. You will support the procurement of LEOP services, ensure that related deliverables are provided on time, prepare for and participate in our simulations and rehearsals. This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting future missions. You will have worked on at least one LEOP and have experience of the operations preparations phase of an Earth Observation satellite mission. You are aware of industry standards, with the capacity to understand complex issues in an operational environment. Capable of being calm in a fast paced environment, you will need to be able to communicate effectively under pressure, being aware of the conflicting interests of every stakeholder.
