Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking for 3 Engineers with focus on EPSSG Overall Ground Segment Integration and Verification activities. Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken are Management Programmatic Support Preparatory Activities. Integration Verification Plans Integration Execution Activities Verification Activities System Integration. Support to System Integration System Verification. Support to System Verification Validation. Support to Operational Validation This is a fulltime position with the planned start in Q2 2018. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a minimum of five years of experience in the specific field of engineering and software engineering and be familiar with satellite monitoring and control, satellite data processing and ground station operations, and have experience in ground segment and system integration and verification. Essential skills are Proven ability in IV of complex systems Structured software development and verification Software maintenance, performance monitoring ECSS standards Configuration control Requirements and verification management Additional skills covering as many as possible from following Satellite communications packet TMTC, PUS, SLE protocol Mission control functions Ground Station monitoring and control Near realtime, Earth observation data processing, archiving, distribution Satellite monitoring and control e.g. SCOS2000 Operating systems UNIXLinux and Windows Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring Automated software testing Requirements and verification management using DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000 Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Relational databases MySQL, Oracle You shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan your work and cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. You shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies.
