Job Description We are looking for a SubSystem Data Processing Engineer to support our customer, ESRIN. This activity is intended to support the EarthCARE PDGS subsystems Technical Officer for the procurement of the subsystems dedicated to the PDGS Data Processing chain, including the processing orchestrator and the Level 0 and OrbitAttitude processors. The support is intended to be provided from phase CD to phase E1 and possibly during phase E2. The scope of support includes PDGS subsystems specification development integration and validation into the PDGS evolutions during phase E2 During phase CDE1 Preparation of the PDGS subsystems managerial and contractual documentation e.g., implementation plan, SoWs Coordination of PDGS subsystems reviews Preparation of the PDGS SubSystems requirements documents Support to PDGS specification for the part relevant to the PDGS data processing subsystems implementation e.g., Interface Control Documents Support the acceptance by the PDGS Project of PDGS external CFIs Participation to Ground Segment Reviews and PDGS reviews Management of the review item discrepancies, system or software problem reports and action linked to PDGS SubSystems implementation contracts Operations of the various supporting tools for the part relevant to the PDGS subsystems implementation e.g., Documentation Management System Support to the PDGS Integration and Validation and Ground Segment Validation phases addressing for the relevant PDGS subsystems Test results analysis and reporting Support for Definition and documentation of the PDGS Commissioning Implementation Plan and procedures for the relevant PDGS subsystems Preparation of the launch and the implementation of rehearsal activities for the relevant PDGS subsystems Management of PDGS Operations, system behaviour monitoring and reporting during commissioning for the relevant PDGS subsystems Adhoc development of tools for the accomplishment of the PDGS subsystems engineering, testing and validation, etc. During phase E2 Support for the subsystems impact analysis of new PDGS requirements deriving from new user needs andor new operational needs Support to the PDGS subsystems specification evolution Coordination of industry in charge of PDGS subsystems evolution and maintenance Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the mission lifetime Required Skills and Experience Minimum 3 years experience University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in engineering or Remote Sensing System Technical Specification Operational Requirements specification Complex system architecture definition and implementation Definition and Implementation of operational concepts System Validation and Verification Operational Validation and Qualification Knowledge of Data Processing systems for Earth Observation data Programming skills Shell scripting Desirable Skills and Experience Agile process SCRUM Good knowledge of ESA and TPM operational missions onscope, including PDGS overall architecture, data products and processing model and operational context e.g., relationship with providers and partners Good knowledge of applications and systems in use for common services implementation and LongTerm Data and Knowledge preservation Virtualisation technologies and platforms Cloudbased service provisioning both public and private cloud, including cost models Virtualisation technologies and platforms Networking both Local and Wide Area Networks design, implementation and operations ICT security design, implementation, operations and standards Experience in Big Earth Observation Data Initiatives, complex systems, distributed systems, systems of systems, federated systems, clouds, etc. Knowledge of Ground Segment Performance Monitoring systems Programming skills Python Work Location Frascati, Italy Application Deadline 30 August 2021 Start of Work as soon as possible but no later than January 2022 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page How to Apply on the Solenix website under Career.
