000 ABPZ20 KNHC 140548 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 PM PDT Sun Aug 13 2017 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center has issued the last advisory on Post-Tropical Cyclone Jova, located several hundred miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms located a few hundred miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, are associated with a trough of low pressure. Environmental conditions are forecast to be only marginally conducive for a tropical depression to form late this week while the system moves slowly westward to west-northwestward. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent. An area of low pressure is expected to form several hundred miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, in a couple of days. Environmental conditions are forecast to be generally conducive for some development of this system while it moves slowly westward later this week. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent. $$ Forecaster Stewart
