000 ABPZ20 KNHC 151737 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 AM PDT Tue Jun 15 2021 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Carlos, located over 1700 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. A large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located a few hundred miles south of southern Mexico and Guatemala are associated with a westward-moving tropical wave and a broad area of low pressure. An area of low pressure is expected to form along this wave later this week. Environmental conditions are expected to be favorable for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form by this weekend while it moves slowly northwestward, roughly parallel to the southwestern coast of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent. $$ Forecaster Latto
