000 ABPZ20 KNHC 091146 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM PDT Thu Sep 9 2021 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Olaf, located a couple of hundred miles southeast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. An area of low pressure is expected to form south of the southern coast of Mexico over the weekend. Environmental conditions are expected to be favorable for at least gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form late this weekend or early next week while it moves west-northwestward or northwestward near the coast of southern and southwestern Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent. $$ Forecaster D.
