It has an annual revenue of around 14 billion and employs approximately 40,000 people.A vacancy for an Elastomer Structure Engineering Manager mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space at its Toulouse site. The successful candidate will join the TLS Damper Equipment team. Within the Structures and Mechanical Engineering department, you will be in charge of performance financial and programmatic and development, and design to produce damping and insulating structures using elastomers. You will ensure relations with the project team, and will supervise the design and industrial monitoring team.You will more specifically be in charge of the following technologies vibration or shock absorbers, elastomer structures, metallic structures.Your main tasks and responsibilities will include technically summarising the mechanics of the developed hardware, Defining the work plan for the detailed definition and acceptance activities designanalysistesting, Leading the design and the industrial followup team from 3 to 5 people per product, Managing the costs and lead time for the department services, Ensuring the industrial followup of the developed mechanic hardware and implementing the associated test plan, Interfacing with the project group and ensuring the reporting, Participating in the replies to calls for tender and ensuring the interface with the agencies for the development of new technologies.This role will involve some travel approximately once a month in France and sometimes in Europe during the industrial followup phases.As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience Qualified engineer or university equivalent 5year degree, ideally in the field of Mechanical Engineering, At least 5 years of experience in structure dynamics and polymer material engineering, ideally in elastomers Ideally initial experience in technical management, project management andor product industrialisation or development, Strong technical skills in mechanic and thermal engineering, Proficiency in design aid tools risk analysis, value engineering, functional analysis, engineering and development plan definition, You have good knowledge of the mechanical constraints related to the space environment structure dimensioning rules Proficiency in the technological procedures of materials used for products developed by the Design Office and industrial design rules, Ability to summarise and excellent decisionmaking skills, Ability to integrate into a team, flexibility, adaptability and a good team spirit, Meticulous nature, the ability to take initiatives, and a responsive and autonomous approach, Good interpersonal and communication skills written and oral, Advanced level of English and French.Please apply online.
