Engineer, Business Applications Betzdorf The Engineer, Business Applications is directly responsible for the management, operations and development of satellite applications IT infrastructure solutions within the SES group and affiliated companies, as well as for IT project support within the organisation and customer related projects. Heshe will execute projects, support and maintenance within the Business Applications delivery field, with regard to timely task and project implementation. Your Responsibilities Installation, configuration, test and maintenance of operating systems, application software and system management tools Definition and Implementation of work packages to support and maintain the Business Applications system architecture hardware installation, networks, software deployment, client rollout, Operation and maintenance of the system and applications monitoring environment and monitoring applications Implementation and maintenance of automationconfiguration management systems. Take on responsibility for timely implementation for hisher projects and activities Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement potential fixes Act as the interface between the Business Applications and the Service Delivery IT departments Definition and documentation of tasks to ensure the Business Applications operation on the work level including tasks like Failover switch and BCP support, client rollout, bug fix deployment, server upgrades Documentation of environments and procedures Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Delivery Second Level oncall support to assist the SES teams on application or system issues outside office hours Take ownership of resolving assigned tasks and problems resulting in problem resolution Stay uptodate with stateoftheart concepts and technologies, and use this knowledge to analyse and maintain systems Execute work related tasks closely collaborating with other team members wherever necessary Provide input to the Manager, Business Application for administrative and management tasks Provide support to internal and external customers for clarification of technical matters and the resolution of technical issues Ensure that all systems selected or developed comply with prevailing IT Architectural Standards including but not limited to security standards and Information Security policies Manage and measure the support for applications during and after implementation including the resolution of all problems associated with their successful operation Evaluate opportunities and threats by new trends and developments in and outside of SES Your Competencies Ability to work internationally in a matrixmanaged, resultsoriented environment Ability to work and communicate with team members in different time zones using latest communication tools Ability to lead a small team and cooperate with other IT as well as business function Ability to interpret complex technical issues and communicate the business value of IT standards and structured approach Demonstrate doer mentality Excellent communications skills, both written and oral High level design skills High level Technical Analysis and Evaluation skills Selfmotivated and able to deal well with ambiguity Your Qualifications Experience Sound technical understanding of the IT landscape and related technical skills as well as its business application DevOps lifecycle, automation, orchestration, and current best practices.
