Engineer, IT Operations United States Hawley, Pennsylvania Your Job The position is directly responsible for the Installation, Monitoring, Operation and Support of the global SES IT install base, with a strong focus on systems. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the Service Desk and all 3rd level Engineering teams. Your Responsibilities Install and operate the global SES IT infrastructure and systems Linux Windows VMWare Storage AD Citrix Proactively monitor the SES internal IT Infrastructure through enterprise monitoring tools Spectrum, Nageos, Weathermap, Centreon, HP Openview, Netbrain, etc. Proactively recommend solutionsmodifications of the existing IT environment in order to secure SES operational assets, in particular the satellite operations environment Provide support to internal and external customers for clarification of technical matters and the resolution of technical issues, improve the end user experience Ensure maturity improvement and adherence ofto all IT service management processes, including, but not limited to, incident management, change management, request fulfilment, problem management Maintain standards and standard operating procedures Work actively with the IT Service Mangement tool Service Now Create Incident Reports for major incidents, actively participate in answering resolving Problem Tickets Work actively with the IT Service Desk to help create troubleshooting procedures for common issues Help create knowledge base articles for common issues and for user selfhelp portal Focus on simplification and standardization Stay uptodate with stateoftheart IT concepts and technologies Oncall duties will be required 247 on a rotational basis Your Competencies Ability to integrate into crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Strong analytical and problemsolving skills ability to frame complex problems or business issues and can elaborate and articulate alternative solutions Proactive approach towards potential andor current customers Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to understand priorities and to proactively deliver results, even under tight deadlines Ability to overcome resistance to change Knowledge of DHCP and DNS management using Infoblox or similar tool Broad understanding of all technologies covered in the IT Operations group Ability to learn new technologies quickly Ability to understand business requirements and all stakeholders in the service delivery process Your Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent Minimum three to five years of applicable professional experience in a large heterogeneous environment Sound technical understanding of the IT landscape and related technical skills Broad knowledge of Information Security and knowledge of the specificities of the satellite industry Vendor Certifications preferred Sound proven experience with MS Active Directory, MS Server 2008 and up, VMWare andor Nutanix Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally NATOEU SECRET clearances are considered a strong asset.
