Engineer, IT Security Ref SES0120 Region North America Location USA Princeton, NJ Company SES Category IT Software Development Position Staff Context The Engineer, IT Security performs the design and implementation of information security controls to adequately safeguard information assets of SES, its affiliates and commercial platforms. Supports the development of SES information security policy framework and the management of information security incidents. Will also provide IT securityrelated project support and internal consultancy within the organization as well as for customerrelated projects. Responsibilities Design, implement, and document information security concepts and information security controls in close collaboration with engineering groups. Support the development and promotion of information security policies, standards, processes and procedures and monitor compliance to the information security policy framework. Support the definition and implementation of SESs information strategy and framework by assessing information security risks and specifying and implementing information security controls to mitigate key risks. Lead information security projects in tandem with SES information security strategy and deliver them on time within cost and scope parameters. Support the detection and analysis of information security incidents and manage responses to incidents. Support the development and maintenance of information security awareness programs and delivery of awareness sessions. Perform information security audits and vulnerability assessments and support the management of issues Provide clear, concise, timely and constructive recommendations regarding IT security in all areas related to information systems and networks Travel and on call duty as required Experience Qualifications Degree in Computer Science and minimum of 4 years industryrelated experience Strong knowledge in system security, network security and security design Thorough and hands on knowledge of The design of network security architectures and their implementation next generation firewalls, web proxies, IDSIPS, Web Application Firewalls, VPN, The design of system and application security concepts, including system and application architectures and specifications of secure configuration baselines Vulnerability, compliance and patch management for complex networks, systems and applications Operating Systems Windows and Linux and applications and clear understanding of how to secure them Ability to explain security rationales and controls to nontechnical audiences. Solid knowledge of IT security threats, vulnerabilities, security technologies, controls and best practices. Relevant product certifications and security certifications eg. CISM, CISSP, GCIH, GCWN, GISP Understand all stakeholders in the IT Security process Autonomous, innovative mind and good problemsolving skills Excellent team player Sound analytical skills and ability to provide practical solutions Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff Ability to coordinate business requirements and work independently and within interdisplinary teams Excellent written and verbal skills Fluency in other languages is a plus US citizen or Permanent Residency required Must be authorized to work in the US.
