Engineer, Spectrum Management Development Americas United States Washington, District of Columbia Role description summary You will be supporting GSO and NGSO spectrum activities as well as frequency coordination matters for the region. The role also includes active participation on international bodies like FCC, EU, CEPT, CITEL, and ITU to represent SES interests. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Spectrum coordination Prepare ITU and national admin filings GSO or NGSO Prepare and support selected coordination meetings for the affected administrations and operators GSO or NGSO Spectrum development and defence at the ITU Actively participate with relevant regional regulatory bodies and the ITU especially for the technical activities Prepare the required technical studies and support the defence them during the meetings Support the advocacy of SES positions in ITU and Regional meetings to identify and secure new spectrum as well as to protect existing spectrum Support Business Development, Sales Fleet Development activities Study assets and regulatory environment for internal projects Support the development of orbital slots including satellite design within specific regions as requested Support the translation of spectrum availability and constraints into satellite designs and sales engineering guidelines Support Regulatory in technical analysis required in regional processes licensing, rulemaking, and public consultations Competencies Excellent project management, diplomatic and interpersonal skills Be a team player Show some negotiation and lobbying skills Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in an international environment Qualifications Experience Hold an internationally recognised engineering qualification e.g. electronics, radiofrequency or equivalent Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering field Understanding of satellite technologies and applications Fluency in English the knowledge of other languages of the REGION is considered an additional asset Willingness to travel approximately 30 of the time Other key requirements EXPECTED RESULTS comments Secured spectrum assets allowing SES region Segment business to expand SES business interests preserved and protected in regional and ITU work All regulatory deadline associated to ITU regulations met Whats in it for you?
