Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora is a daughter company of LSE Space who themselves are part of the SSC group. We are a friendly business, the happiness of our employees has proven key to obtaining both excellent results with our client. Therefore, after recent strong growth we need to further expand our internal team to support Finance to continue to provide the same high level of service. Overview Aurora is expanding and this creates a new, interesting opportunity in our management and administration team based in a modern spacious office located in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director and work together closely with the HR team. This is a key role in ensuring the correct financial processing and reporting of the company. The core responsibilities are as follows Entering invoices into the accounts system, creating and sending payments, and filing of invoices. Entering bank statements into the accounts system. Raising invoices to clients ESA via their system together with Goods Received Notes, others via Excel invoices. Reconciling hours worked and cross checking in relation to invoicing. Generating the group monthly financial report and HR statistics reports within the first week of the following month. VAT and ICP declarations and for the Netherlands and for Spain via our Spanish tax advisor. Supporting the end of year closing. Maintaining the forecast and the next years budget. Interface with subcontracting companies. Innovating financial tools such as a mission database via intranet. As part of a small management team there is room for flexibility and we help each other e.g. you might assist the processing of travels. Note that the entry of the travel claims into the accounts is nominally performed by the travel administrator. Specific qualification requirements The candidate requires the following qualities Proven finance and bookkeeping experience. Experience with Excel working with large files with many sheets, writing functions, conditional formatting, pivot tables. Other IT skills are an advantage including google sheets and scripting. Can successfully communicate with international staff in English and use of Dutch accountancy systems. Well organized, dedicated, conscientious, and honest. Friendly nature and enthusiasm towards innovation. Excellent administration skills to ensure records are up to date and correct. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands. Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the Aurora office in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Starting hours would be circa 30 hours a week 75 FTE, which may increase with company growth. Standard working hours are 40 per week with 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Social security and tax in the Netherlands. Training opportunities to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are included. Aurora contributes to a company pension scheme. Since this is a key role in the organisation, we have a preference to commence with a temporary contract before moving to permanent.
