In our Operations Department in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich we are now hiring for the following position Flight Dynamics and Planning Engineer fmd Your Mission The Flight Dynamics and Planning teams inside the Galileo Project will be supporting and cooperating together with Flight, Space Segment, Ground, Mission and Training teams for the preparation, scheduling and in some cases execution of all operations required for Galileo constellation and its Ground Segment, from LEOP to routine, until EndofLife EoL and disposal, also including the handling of potential contingencies on Ground andor Space Segment levels. In particular, as Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for orbit and attitude determination and prediction, provision of products and support to operations, orbit manoeuvres planning and execution, collision risk assessment, as well as many mission analyses. As Planning Engineer, you will be in charge of delivering on a weekly basis the Operational Timeline for the Galileo Project and associated Team Plan. Learn more in one year than you will in any other organization and take on the following tasks as Flight Dynamics and Planning Engineer Support to routine orbit determination, propagation, event prediction, command generation and other orbitrelated products for different teams and elements Coordination of LEOP pre and postlaunch flight dynamics and planning activities Preparation and execution of station acquisition and keeping, collision avoidance, relocation and disposal manoeuvre campaigns Support to both space and ground anomalies investigation and resolution Performance and trend analysis reporting Definition, analysis and continuous improvement of operational flight dynamics processes, databases, procedures, tools and interfaces Operations planning and coordination via the preparation of a weekly timeline and team plan Maintain and develop training material Your Qualification Mandatory KnowledgeSkills Masters degree in engineering or physics, preferably in Aerospace Engineering Indepth knowledge of spaceflight mechanics covering orbitattitude dynamics and control subsystems Proven experience in validating, operating and maintaining operational spacecraft flight dynamics systems Proven experience in LEOP and station acquisition flight dynamics operations preparationexecution Proven expertise with Unix systems, command line tools and scripting languages bash, awk, python Solid problem solving skills, with a proactive attitude and capability to work under minimum supervision, multitasking and selflearning skills Strong focus attitude towards collaborative team working and ability to interface with customers and stakeholders Strong organizational, communication and relationship management skills Fluent oral and written English skills all daytoday activities and documentation are performed through English Desirable KnowledgeSkills Knowledge of GNSS space flight mechanics in MEO Familiarity with space or ground segments of navigation satellite systems, such as EGNOS or Galileo Experience in FD operations preparationsexecution for collision avoidance Experience in FD operations preparationsexecution for SC passivation and disposal Experience in spacecraft operations planning Familiarity with NAPEOS software, FocusSuiteFocusLEOPAutofocus Familiarity with statistical and graphical analysis tools like MATLAB, Python and SQL Knowledge of system engineering standards and methodologies relevant to space operational systems Knowledge of configuration management systems and practices Our Offer Collaboration in the European lighthouse project Galileo trusting and appreciative cooperation in an international environment international team spirit 30 days annual leave compatibility of career and family life e.g. through flexible working time models in the context of company requirements Extra benefits such as awo lifebalance a varied personnel development program individual career options for example through secondments to partner agencies enterprises abroad employerfinanced retirement plan attractive location with a high recreational value in the fivelakes region near Munich and much much more ...
