It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a GNSS Software Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. The successful applicant will join the Earth Observation, Navigation and Science directorate. The group is responsible for delivery of software code, testing and configuration against customer project requirements. The role involves working across multiple projects on the architecture and the design of GNSS localization navigation systems. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Contribute to software design specification, System module design and definition, Implement design to meet the specification, Test and Verification at module and system level. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Navigation, Experience in Software Development, preferably navigationrelated, Solid Coding Development experience of Embedded real time software in C C and Java preferably in a complex high quality engineering background. Experience UML or Yourden methodology Structured Design Process, Experience in the use of debuggers such as JTag, Experience in Networking Good understanding of complex systems, Knowledge of Navigation Systems, Knowledge of DGPS and EGNOS, Knowledge of development to DAL D assurance level DO178. Global Navigation Satellite Systems and signals, Experience of Linux and Windows OS, together with knowledgeexperience of Eclipse and Visual Studio, Previous experience working with ESA.
