YOUR MISSION The GNSS engineerSW Developer will be part of GfRs newly established and growing NAVCAST service team. Navcast is a commercial High Accuracy Service from Spaceopal GmbH see httpspaceopal.comnavcast that aims at providing high accuracy positioning solutions to users worldwide. We are looking for highly motivated GNSS professionals andor Software Developers that have, besides distinct team player skills, also the ability to work independently in a structured manner and to adapt quickly to the challenges of this highly dynamic environment. The position offers lots of handson opportunities during the design, implementation and validation phase of NAVCAST and will challenge you to find innovative solutions to upcoming problems. The successful candidate will also have strong communication and networking skills. Your main responsibilities are Steering NAVCAST service evolution and software development Support the definition and implementation of NAVCAST Operations Procedures Support andor lead NAVCAST test and validation campaigns Ensure the implementation of NAVCAST improvements and service stability enhancements Monitor, evaluate and report on NAVCAST system and service performance parameters Operate NAVCAST hardware and software. YOUR QUALIFICATION The ideal candidate will either be a GNSS Navigation engineer with substantial SW development skills or a SW developer with a strong background in GNSS High Accuracy Navigation. Strong background in GNSS Navigation Profound knowledge of orbit determination and improvement, time transfer and precise point positioning PPP Ability to become an expert for the core processing engines for GNSS orbit BERNESE and clock determination RETICLE Significant experience with Linux environments hardware and software installations, shell scripting, network design, software debugging SW and data analyses with Fortran, Perl, Python, CC Experience with clean code programming and virtualization VMware, K8S, Terraform, Grafana, Elastic or Influx would be an asset Ability to also work independently Analytic problemsolving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot anomalies and trigger the correct mitigation actions Familiarity with GNSS system monitoring, PPP performance analyses and the generation of GNSS statusperformance reports would be an asset. Your qualification includes University degree in Space Science and Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or in an equivalent field At least 2 years of experience in GNSS Navigation andor SW development Familiarity with basic satellite orbit and clock determination concepts Fluent in English, German would be an asset.
