It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Galileo Configuration Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Munich. The successful applicant will join Galileo Operations Bid. Please note that the work location will be Oberpfaffenhofen. The Galileo Global Satellite Navigation System GNSS provides global positioning capability by means of civil unclassified signals for mass market and professional applications as well as classified signals for governmental applications. The Galileo System Infrastructure consists of a globally distributed ground infrastructure connected by a global data dissemination network and a constellation of MEO satellites. The European Commission EC is the owner of Galileo and the infrastructure. The European GNSS Agency GSA on behalf of the EC subcontracts the Galileo Service Operation. The Galileo Service Operator GSOp has the responsibility to operate the Galileo infrastructure, to maintain the Galileo infrastructure, to monitor and manage system security, and to accommodate system upgrades and evolutions. Airbus Defence and Space has identified the GSOp tender as a key opportunity and is producing the Best and Final Offer by mid of August. We are intending to win it and preparing a very strong team across all our entities and sites combining leadership, service driven business and technical expertise. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Ensuring that the product configuration is fully controlled from definition to delivery and operations Implementing Configuration Management Methods, Processes and related Tools along the entire GSOp lifecycle to ensure the availability and consistency of relevant data and Product Services configuration consistency Conducting and coordinating CM activities and being accountable for CM process deliverables change, structure update, etc. within GSOp with all involved parties Operations, Maintenance, Evolution, Customer Service and transversal Functions. Identifying items to be placed under their formal Configuration Control Identifying the requirements and the functional and physical characteristics of those items Ensuring Configuration Control, to control and document changes to those characteristics and operate effective Configuration Control Boards CCB Ensuring Configuration Status Accounting to record and report configuration status Ensuring Configuration Verification and Audit to verify achievement of required characteristics We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to degree level in Engineering, General Engineering or similar Experience as configuration manager within the satellite business Knowledge of the relevant configuration management tools and databases Knowledge of configuration management in accordance to ECSS Good interpersonal and communication skills Process oriented mindset Flexibility to work within an intercultural environment Negotiation level in English German, Italian or any other language skills are a plus Please apply for this vacancy at our careers site www.jobs.airbusgroup.com with your CV attached.
