A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Galileo Ground Segment Operations Engineer to support the monitoring and controlling for the overall preparation of the ground segment and execution of the Galilieo operations activities. The successful candidate will assist the Galileo Constellation Operations Unit HSOOGC in the coordinating of the definition, deployment, validation and operations of the Galileo Ground control infrastructure as required. Typical tasks and responsibilities will include To monitor the Operations Service provider on its operations and maintenance activity for the Galileo Control Segment in the GCCs and the remote sites. To follow up the development, integration, verification and operational validation for the Galileo Ground Control segment, within the context of the overall Galileo system. To support the development of the Galileo Control segment improving operability. To support the procurement process for the Operations Service Provider for the Ground Control Segment maintenance and operation aspects and to monitor their implementation. To support and coordinate the interaction between the Operations and the Ground Control segment providers, ensuring coherency of the maintenance and operational concept for the Control Segment at system, segment and element level. To support Galileo related Anomaly Review Boards, Change Control Boards and review panels as required. Applicants will require significant engineering experience in ground control or similarly complex computer infrastructure deployed for space operation related activities, along with a proven experience within a commercialindustrial environment. Experience related to the developments in the Galileo project GIOVE, IOV would be considered advantageous. All candidates should have a University degree or equivalent in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. Candidates will be required to undergo security clearance This role will require regular travel to Holland, Italy and other European destinations
