We are currently looking for a Galileo Ground Segment Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Galileo Ground Segment Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will be supporting the Galileo Constellation Operations unit. You will have the following responsibilities Monitoring the activities of the Operations Service provider on its operations and maintenance activities of the Galileo Control Segment in the GCCs and the remote sites Followup the development, integration, verification and operational validation of the Galileo Ground Control segment within the context of the overall Galileo system Support the development of requirements for evolution of the Galileo Control Segment to improve operability Support the procurement process for the Operations Service Provider for the Ground Control Segment maintenance and operations aspects, and monitor their implementation Support and coordinate the interaction between the Operations and the Ground Control Segment providers, ensuring the coherency of the maintenance and operations concept for the Control Segment Participation on Galileo related Anomaly Review Boards, Change Control Boards, reviews panels, as required. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering Senior engineering experience in ground control of similarly complex computer infrastructure deployed for space operation related activities Proven experience in a commercialindustrial environment is required Experience related to the Galileo project GIOVE, IOV would be an asset Eligibility to obtain Galileo Security Clearance to the level of Secret Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Oberpfaffenhofen and requires frequent travel to other locations in Europe. We are looking for candidates who are available from June 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
