(Telecompaper) Google has announced plans to expand its FTTH service to nine new cities. After Kansas City, Provo and Austin, the company will take Google Fiber to Portland, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durhan. A total 34 municipalities in the nine cities will be targeted to roll out fibre services at up to 1 Gbps. Google said it will work with local officials and residents on the details of the roll-out and announce its final plans by the end of this year.
