Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in the aerospace domain. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Ground Segment System and Interface Engineer 1413094 Job Description For our customer EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Ground Segment System Engineer to work at their headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. The selected engineer will assist the Generic Systems and Infrastructure GSI Division, as part of the Infrastructure Engineering Maintenance team, performing Ground Segment and Interface engineering activities. The engineer will be initially covering the system and interfaces engineering activities in support to the routine operations of the MTP, MSG, EPS and Jason2 operational programmes. However the duties of the engineer will then gradually evolve to provide also support to future programmes, in the area of ground segment system engineering and, in particular, interfaces definition. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline 3 years experience in the following areas Development and maintenance of complex operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts with large reuse of existing generic infrastructure and functional elements System, IVV and Interfaces Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment Interfaces requirements definition, engineering and test, including the generation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents, with support of tools Proven knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas Satellite monitoring and control systems Data processing Dissemination Archive systems Ground Stations Fluency in English Desirable Skills and Experience Proven knowledge and experience in Full development cycle of large systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Knowledge of Network system engineering would be considered as an advantage System requirements management and functionalarchitectural modelling, with support of tools System architectural design experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of it will be considered an advantage e.g. Enterprise Architect Definition, management and traceability of complex requirements structure experience in the use of tools in support of it will be considered an advantage e.g. DOORS Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with the ECSS standards Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 19 November 2014 Start of Work 01 January 2015 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
