Position Reference 774 We are currently looking for a Ground Stations Operations Engineer to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The key person will be involved in the routine operations, their evolution and the operations preparation of EUMETSATs Ground Stations GS within the Realtime services and System Operations RSO division for all EUMETSAT Geostationary Earth Orbit GEO and Low Earth Orbit LEO missions e.g. MTG, EPSSG and Sentinel6. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Operations of the GS and external GS services. Implementation, verification and operational validation of new Ground Stations and Ground Stations Services and their evolutions. Contribution to the operations preparation and system verificationvalidation for new satellite systems. Provision of support to anomaly investigation. Training of operational personnel for Ground Stations and external Ground Stations Services operations. Contribution to the system verification and validation activities for future satellite systems, including formal system operational scenario validation, SSVTs, IVV, Commissioning and operations rehearsals. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline relevant to the above mentioned tasks e.g. telecommunications, electronics, radio frequency or equivalent. or proven experience in ground stations TTC and Mission Data Acquisition in a realtime 247 spacecraft operations environment, ideally in an Earth Observation environment. At least two years experience in the operations of complex ground stations systems TTC and Mission Data Acquisition in support of multiple Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO spacecraft, and experience of verification and validation of such systems. Very good strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills and an ability to apply these to the interactions within a team and between teams in a multidisciplinary context. Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the operations of the service, including the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context. Systematic approach to work, along with the ability to plan your work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage complex tasks with minimum supervision. Capability to write accurate, concise, focused and consistent technical documentation and reports. Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience or indepth knowledge in one of more of the following Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations Definition and implementation of verification and validation activities of ground stations Definition, verification and validation of interfaces between ground stations and ground segments Diagnosis and correction of firstline ground stations hardware and software failures Preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation Document management and configuration control processes Definition of user interfaces for operations HMI, reports, etc. Relevant technical standards e.g. ECSS, CCSDS Baseband operation and configuration Dataminer, Monitoring and control tool Space Link Extension SLE operation andor configuration.
