One of our clients in Germany is looking for a Ground Stations Operations Engineering Support. The Key candidate will support the Ground Stations and External Interfaces GSEI team within the RSO division and shall support the daily operations of the Ground Stations and their interfaces to the other components of the ground segments to ensure their maximum availability and reliability. Closing date 12102016 Tasks Longterm planning and shortterm scheduling of the operational usage of the ground stations to support both the needs of the Flight Operations Division FLO and Ground Stations engineering team. Interface with project teams for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects and major activities described in the Operational System MidTerm Evolution Plan. This will include ground station changes required to support major space segment evolutions. Interfacing with the ground stations maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance by the ground stations, including participating in the definition, specification and implementation of any changes. Planning and coordination of upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the engineering teams and FLO division. Organising the validation of these upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the Controller Teams. Definition and maintenance of ground station operations procedures and operations guides. Maintaining operational ground stations databases. Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correction mitigation, participation in associated Anomaly Review Boards. Provision of training, through production and presentation of written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Department. Qualifications A university degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent ground stations experience. Skills and experience The Key Person shall have the following mandatory attributes At least five years experience in ground stations TTC operations in support of multiple Low Earth Orbit LEO andor Geostationary GEO spacecraft. At least five years experience in a realtime 247 spacecraft operations environment, ideally in an earth observation environment. Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations. Defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground stations. Interfaces between ground stations and ground segments. Firstline hardware and software failure diagnosis and correction. Baseband operation and configuration.
