ACS is looking for the IASI and GOME engineer is in charge of the activities relevant to instruments integration, testing and operation on EUMETSAT satellites, both onground and inorbit, including the resolution of instrument anomalies. He is the focal point for IASI and GOME with respect to EUMETSAT partners, such as CNES and ESA. ACS has more than 30 years experience in delivering solutions for Earth Observation satellites Ground Segments. Based in Rome, Italy and in Darmstadt, Germany, we delivered systems currently in operation in 20 countries worldwide and have a long record of successful projects carried out for ESA, EUMETSAT, EMSA and many other Space Agencies and Research Centres. The Key person, i.e. the IASI and GOME2 Engineer will be responsible for follow up of the instrument project and shall report to the LEO Instrument Team Leader.The tasks of the IASI and GOME2 Engineer shall include the following Monitoring of the r ep a i r and subsequent tests of IASI. Monitor and support the GOME2 on ground cal ibration. Participation to Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities relevant to both IASI and GOME2. Participation to instrument acceptance and handover reviews and other meetings with industry and other partners such as ESA, CNES as well as internal meetings. Analyse and assess the onground and inorbit performances of IASI and GOME2. Maintenance of an uptodate plan of Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities requiring support for the IASI and GOME2 instruments. Investigation of onground and inorbit instrument anomalies and support operations to the relevant recovery actions. Provide general support to the Metop Operations Team for IASI and GOME 2 matters. Support inorbit checkout verification tests during MetopC In Orbit Verification IOV. Preparation and maintenance of instrument related documents, as well as presentation material Maintenance of regular contacts with the above mentioned EUMETSAT partners in relation to IASI and GOME2. Support to other Instruments Although support to IASI and GOME2 is the primary task of the Key person, heshe may be requested to provide a similar type of management and engineering support to the LEO Instrument Team Leader for other instruments. Skills The Key person is required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision and minimum training. The Key person shall have a university degree in engineering or physics and a background of at least 5 years in space hardware projects mainly in the area of optical instruments. Experience in project management positions is required together with the ability to follow satellite level Payload AIV activities. The Key person shall also have some knowledge of PAQA processes and procedures and good general computing skills, with familiarity with Microsoft Office software Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.. Previous experience in AIVAIT and commissioning activities is regarded as advantageous along with experience of working on a collaborative programme between different partners. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key Person must be able to work effectively in this language and have some knowledge of the other.
