We are currently looking for an Image Navigation Registration Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Image Navigation Registration Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Image Navigation Registration Team, you will have the following responsibilities Contribute to EUMETSAT existing and future programmes in the development of Image Navigation and Registration INR data processing systems Support the development procurement of the INR data processing systems as well as SW implementations and modification in delivered INR data processing SW Support the verification and validation of INR data processing systems, and their initial operations phase, as well as the investigation and correction of anomalies related to the performance of INR data processing systems Develop and document prototype software validating INR algorithms andor realising INR processing concepts for future programmes Support the generation of proxydata for INR prototyping or for verificationvalidation of INR data processing systems Develop the inhouse knowledge base related to INR algorithms, the related implemented SW and highaccuracy level 1 processing from instruments on GEO and LEO orbits. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline An extensive theoretical knowledge of Level 1 data processing algorithms for Image Navigation and Registration, and geometric correction Sound expertise in software development and proven experience in at least one coding language, preferable CC, in a UNIXLINUX environment Familiarity with at least one tool to support algorithm software development and rapid prototyping, e.g. MATLAB, IDL, Python Design and implementation of estimation filters e.g. Kalman or Leastsquare filters, preferably in an Image Navigation and Registration application context Specification, prototyping, implementation, verification and validation of complex, realtime Level 1 data processing systems for imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Understanding of the interaction between instrumentplatform characteristics and processing impact, including product quality Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
