We are currently looking for an Image Quality Assessment Engineering to support our customer in Germany. Image Quality Assessment Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Image Quality Assessment Team, you will have the following responsibilities Monitoring the mediumterm to longterm performance of Level 1 data processing systems, including the performance of their algorithms, and monitoring the quality of the generated Level 1 image products Developing and maintaining image quality assessment software, including the specification, verification and validation testing of software developments MSG Level 1 data processing system, including the specification, verification and validation testing of system updates Supporting the investigation and correction of anomalies related to the performance of the MSGMTP Level 1 data processing systems Preparations for future GEO and LEO missions image quality assessment Attendance at technical meetings and participation in formal reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Extensive theoretical knowledge of Level 1 data processing algorithms for image navigation, registration and calibration and the techniques used for assessing the geometric and radiometric quality of Level 1 image products Specifying, prototyping, verifying and validating Level 1 algorithms Processing and analysis of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating remote sensing products and complex remote sensing data processing systems. Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from March 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
