The Mission Galileo is Europes future global navigation satellite system, providing a highly accurate global positioning service under civilian control. The launches of the constellation of Galileo spacecraft have begun, and the system is moving towards full operational capability in the coming years. With the Galileo system offering global navigation services to both the public and military, a critical aspect of the complete Galileo system is the security of operations of the system and spacecraft, to ensure that the system is protected from threats. The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Information and Communication Technology IT Operations and System Engineer for the Galileo mission to be located at the customer site ESOC. The tasksresponsibilities of this position will include in particular Support the Galileo Project Office in the Operations of the Galileo System, with focus on the ICT infrastructure Contribute to the review process of the Galileo ICTrelated contracts, with special focus on the reviews of the Galileo Data Dissemination Network Monitoring of the GDDN service provision SLA by the WP6 contractor Contribute to the ICT Operational Concept for the Galileo system Contribute to the productionreview of the IT aspects of the applicable ICDs GDDN to Segments ICD Support the Galileo Configuration Control Processes in IT areas Network Configuration Control Board Followup of IT related Anomalies ARs,NCRs and Resolution process CCRs Support System in their integration and verification activities with focus on IT infrastructure Contribute to the Galileo Project Office in the Operations team with other IT related activities. Support the Galileo Project Office during the development, validation, integration and operations of the endtoend communication system GDDN, xNE and associated MC system, with focus on the Galileo Data Dissemination Network GDDN Following the deployment, validation and transition to operation of new communications links as well as the required migration processes, ensuring their timely availability for the meet the project development plans Coordinate with the segments in the provision of an endtoend ICT solution for the Galileo System. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in September 2013 if possible earlier. The work requires frequent travel within Europe. The appointment is subject to the selected candidate having or obtaining personal security clearance from hisher national security authority. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have an university degree, preferably in informatics or other suitable qualification in the IT domain. Skills Proven experience in technical IT Communication and Computer Systems operations and engineering Experience in IT Service Delivery Experience in Configuration Change and Anomaly management Experience in Service Transition andor Service Design processes. In view of the complex interaction with numerous entities, candidates should have good communication skills and the capability to work in a complex environment complex task. Good practical and analytical skills are also required.
