We are currently looking for an Instrument Data Processing Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Instrument Data Processing Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will support the operation of the various data processing components. You will have the following responsibilities Data ingestion, processing and product distribution Data and Product analysis Testing and the implementation of new products Settingup and implementation of operational procedures and documentation Anomaly investigation First line maintenance Coordination with external organisations and service providers Attendance at technical meetings and participation in formal reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Realtime satellite instrument data processing systems Instrument data processing of Level0 data and generationdistribution of meteorological andor environmental products Near real time data driven automated systems in large computer networks Validating complex remote sensing data processing systems Experience with UNIXLinux operating systems Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft Knowledge and experience with the following would be an asset Operational procedures and configuration data Programming e.g. C, C and IDL, Perl, Python, shell, SQL, Oracle Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Communication protocols CCSDS standards and formats Geophysical remote sensing data processing, e.g. Image Navigation and Registration INR, radiometric correction, calibration algorithms and retrieval of geophysical parameters. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt.
