Client and Location For one of our main customers ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for an Instrument Performance L1B Processing Engineer who will give support to the Earth Observation Payload Section onsite at ESTEC. Tasks and Responsibilities The candidate shall perform the following tasks Technical support to the assessment and verification of the instruments endtoend performances Analysis of the Ground Processor Prototype, GPP, and Instrument Data Simulator, IDS, requirements Monitoring of the development of GPP and IDS of the related instruments, including payload common parts Review of the GPP and IDS Input Output Design Specifications Support to EUMETSAT documentation review L1b products specifications, L1b Algorithms Theoretical Baseline Documentation, ATBD Review of Characterisation, Calibration and InOrbit Verification Plans Review of instrument performance models, instrument radiometricgeometric models Improvement and maintenance of performance and data processing tools models, performances, budgets Participation to Project reviews Assessment of noncompliances and RFDsRFWs related to instrument performances In the execution of his tasks, the Performance Engineer will work closely with each of the Principal Instrument Engineers responsible for the relevant instruments. Experience and education The candidate shall comply with the following requirements The Candidate shall have a university degree masters or equivalent qualification in instruments performance and data processing with a background in microwave radiometer instruments for remote sensing The candidate shall have at least 4 years of relevant work experience within the space industry performing similar activities as outlined in the tasks and responsibilities section The candidate shall have a good understanding of the overall instruments, including background in modelling of the observation techniques, endtoend performance estimation, L1B processing and instrument characterisation Experience with Microwave Radiometers data processing, instrument modelling and experience in instrument development is an asset Candidates shall demonstrate good familiarity with computer programs such as Excel, Matlab, etc. About ATG Europe Today, ATG is recognized as a leading provider of specialized engineering, scientific and technical services to the European Aerospace, High Tech and Offshore industry.
